Applying for a visit visa can help relatives visit relatives away from home or gain a deeper understanding of life in Canada. Whether they are work permit or study permits (Work/Study Permit) holders, they are eligible to apply for family members to visit relatives in Canada.
Application materials
Super visa
- Proof of relationship with the Canadian inviter. Proof of personal medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company valid for at least one year from the date of entry.
- Physical examination certificate. Have a physical examination at a designated medical examiner in China. Please inform the medical examiner that you will go to Canada for a temporary visit.
- The inviter must submit a written and signed invitation letter promising to provide financial support for the applicant’s visit and stay.
- Details of the persons at the inviting address.
- A copy of the inviting person’s citizenship or immigration status document.
- Proof of financial support from the inviter. For example: tax forms (NOA) issued by the Canada Revenue Agency, employment letters showing income, pay stubs, bank statements, etc.
Ordinary visit visa
1. Proof of relationship between the applicant and the Canadian inviter
2. Applicant submits invitation letter
3. A copy of the inviting person’s valid residence permit in Canada
4. Proof of the inviter’s income and financial status
5. If the inviter is studying in Canada, please provide an acceptance letter issued by the school.
Ordinary tourist visa
1. If the applicant is employed, use an original leave approval letter on company letterhead and signed by the employer, and include the following information: applicant’s name, position, current income and date of employment, as well as the employer’s full name and address, telephone number and fax Number.
2. If the applicant is retired, proof of retirement indicating the applicant’s pension.
3. If the applicant is a student and is traveling during non-school holidays, an original letter from the school confirming his/her enrollment and approving his/her absence is required.
4. Proof of assets in China. For example: original real estate certificate, original vehicle registration certificate, etc.
