Application materials

  • Complete the Study Permit Application Form (IMM 1294).
  • Complete the Family Member Information Form and Education and Employment Details Form (IMM 5707).
  • Two photos.
  • My valid passport.
  • Passport must contain at least one blank page except the last page and must be valid for at least six months before travel
  • Copy of my Chinese ID card (front and back)
  • Copy of medical examination form from designated medical examiner
  • A copy of the admission letter from the school’s admissions office
  • Study plan statement (study plan and future career goals)
  • Notarized copies of the applicant’s high school diploma and transcripts stamped with the official seal of the school’s registrar’s office
  • Original copy of personal household registration book
  • Guardianship declaration from parents and Canadian guardian (applicable to some applicants)
  • If planning to study in Quebec, submit a valid Quebec Acceptance Letter (CAQ).
  • If the applicant is currently studying in a university or college, or has graduated from a university or college, please submit notarized copies of all university or college academic qualifications obtained, as well as transcripts of all courses currently attended. If you have not yet graduated, please indicate when you expect to graduate and what degree, diploma, or certificate you will receive.
  • If the applicant is 18 years of age or older, please submit a criminal record certificate from the country where you have lived continuously for six months or more since you turned 18.
  • All Chinese documents proving funds must be accompanied by English or French translations
